Krista Bossi, a San Diego native, recently graduated from California State University, Chico with a bachelor’s degree in Resort and Lodging Management. Bossi joined Alexis K. in 2010 as its Client Coordinator.

“I’ve always had a passion for the service industry and so working in the area of client coordination within the beauty industry is right in line with my careers goals,” says Bossi.

Bossi previously worked for Hotel Diamond, based in Northern California, for a year as a front desk agent. She gained experience in the area of guest services and also learned about various management skills from her supervisors.

“At Alexis K. I’m able to utilize my customer service skills and assist clients with their questions,” adds Bossi. “I can also advise them on beauty products and services that specifically suit their needs so that their experience at Alexis K. is a memorable one.”

Claudia Gonzalez Varga embarked on her career in the beauty industry over a decade ago as a makeup consultant with Benefit Cosmetics. Gonzalez-Varga then relocated to Los Angeles and graduated from the Studio Makeup Academy, the only makeup school situated inside a major Hollywood studio lot. Gonzalez-Varga eventually made her way out to Las Vegas, where she worked as a freelance makeup artist, using lines such as Becca, Tarte, Hardy Candy and Urban Decay.

“While I was living in Las Vegas, I came to realization that I could do so much more if I had my esthetician’s license,” says Gonzalez-Varga, who returned to San Diego to attend Estheiques Cosmetology Institute, a Paul Mitchell partner school based in Temecula.

Upon graduation, Gonzalez-Varga landed a coveted position with the famed Anastasia of Beverly Hills. Its founder, Anastasia Soare, is a world-renowned eyebrow artist. Gonzalez-Varga worked at Anastasia’s then-newly opened salon in the heart of downtown La Jolla. Gonzalez-Varga actually met Alexis Koravos, founder of Alexis K., while working at Anastasia.

“There I absorbed everything I could about eyebrows, beauty and skincare,” says Gonzalez-Varga. “I knew then that working in a specialized spa was what I wanted to do.”

Gonzalez-Varga returned to Las Vegas to work at Aveda, where she specialized in eyebrow shaping and skincare. Gonzalez-Varga has since taken a two-year hiatus to get married and start a family. She recently reenergized her career and now works at Alexis K. as an Eyebrow Artist and Esthetician.

“I do this because it really is what I love to do,” adds Varga. “I have a passion for the feeling I get in making others feel beautiful.”

Born and raised in San Diego, Brianne Bruggema earned her associate’s degree in Entrepreneurship Business in 2009 while working in the field of accounting. “I quickly realized this wasn’t the right industry for me,” remembers Bruggema.

Upon graduation, Bruggema enrolled in Poway’s Bellus Academy and completed its Makeup, Basic Esthetics and Master Esthetics curriculum. Bruggema also became an internationally certified esthetician through Bellus’s ITEC program. Bruggema joined Alexis K. in 2010.

“Bellus is one of the top schools in the country and it actually cares about your real life success rather than getting you in and out,” explains Bruggema. “The vice president of the school is actually the person who put me in touch with Alexis.” Bruggema enjoys her work at Alexis K. as a Master Esthetician and Makeup Artist since she continues to learn something new everyday.
